Optical detection of paramagnetic defects in diamond grown by chemical vapor deposition

The electronic spins of the nitrogen-vacancy centers (NV centers) in Chemical-Vapor-Deposition (CVD) grown diamonds form ideal probes magnetic fields and temperature, as well promising qu-bits for quantum information processing. Studying controlling environment NV such high purity crystals is thus essential these applications. We demonstrate optical detection paramagnetic species, hydrogen-related complexes, a CVD-grown diamond. resonant transfer centers' polarized to species generates conspicuous features photoluminescence by employing field scans along [100] crystal direction. Our results offer prospects more detailed studies processes coherent control spin novel classes hyper-polarized species.
